Maruchan is a Japanese word comprised of two parts, Maru and chan. Maru literally means round, as in the shape of a ball or a happy child’s face. Maru also means rounded, as opposed to square or angular. In Japanese, round has a connotation of friendliness. The word chan is a suffix, used with a child’s name. “Chan” is used to show endearment and affection for a child.

We recommend that you refer to the "Best By" code on our packages and suggest that our products should be consumed in a timely manner. While ramen noodles have a very long shelf life, certain conditions over time may reduce the soup quality. Always store Maruchan products in a cool dry place.
Maruchan produces 3.6 billion packages of Ramen Noodle Soup a year. If the noodles were all strung together they would reach all the way from earth to the planet Mars and back.
"Ramen" is pronounced by combining the syllables: Ra (rah) Men.

Yes, a change was made to the cheese ingredient in our Instant Lunch Cheddar Cheese Flavor. In response to the growing interest for more natural ingredients, we revamped our recipe to eliminate artificial flavors and synthetic colors. The new Instant Lunch Cheddar Cheese Flavor now contains flavors and coloring only from natural sources.
Thanks for being such an avid fan of this flavor! The name Oriental Flavor has now been updated to Soy Sauce Flavor to better reflect the distinct flavor profile of this tasty dish. Despite the name change, the traditional flavor and recipe of this product have remained the same. We hope this answers your question!
